NOVIQ Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026NOVIQ never needs the internet to work. You need a connection to download it and to buy a license; after that, building a set, running a show and checking your license all happen on your own machine, with or without a signal. This policy reflects that.
What the Software does
- It collects no analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage data.
- Your library, setlists, and songs are stored only on your own machine, in a folder you control. We never see them.
- License verification happens entirely on your device - checking a license key does not contact any server.
- A license check, and only if you are already online. If you have entered a license key, NOVIQ checks with us in the background that the key is active on this computer: once a little after it starts, and once when you enter a key. It sends your license key and a scrambled identifier of this computer (a one-way hash, not a serial number), and nothing else. We keep which computer each license is registered to, so a license works on one computer and can be moved when you replace it. Like any web request it reaches our host, Cloudflare, from your IP address; we don't use that to identify you. If you are offline, nothing happens and nothing waits for it.
- NOVIQ Practice, the separate practice application, goes online only for features you turn on: the optional AI coach, which sends your request to the AI provider you configure with your own key, and downloading the model that separates a song into parts.
What we (the publisher) collect
Only what's needed to sell and support the Software:
- Purchases. Handled by our payment processor, Paddle, who is the merchant of record. Paddle collects the billing information needed to process your payment (see Paddle's privacy policy). We receive your email address and order details in order to issue your license key and provide support.
- Support requests. If you email us, we keep that correspondence to help you and to prevent abuse (e.g. repeated machine-activation reset requests).
We do not sell or share this information with third parties beyond what's needed to process payment (Paddle) and, if ever required, to comply with the law.
Microsoft Store purchases
If you buy NOVIQ through the Microsoft Store, your purchase and license entitlement are handled by Microsoft under Microsoft's privacy policy, not by us directly.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected in release notes.
